Biography
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was born in Makkah in 570 or 571 CE. He is regarded by Muslims as the final Prophet sent by Allah to guide humanity. Many historians have also described him as one of the most influential figures in world history.
His father passed away before his birth, and his mother died when he was six years old. He was then cared for by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib and later by his uncle Abu Talib.
Before receiving revelation, he became known among the people of Makkah for his honesty and trustworthiness, earning the titles Al-Sadiq (The Truthful) and Al-Amin (The Trustworthy).
At the age of forty, while worshipping in the Cave of Hira, Angel Jibril (Gabriel) brought him the first revelation from Allah:
"Read in the name of your Lord who created."
These verses later became the opening verses of Surah Al-'Alaq in the Holy Qur'an.
After receiving revelation, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) devoted his life to calling people to the worship of One Allah, righteousness, justice, mercy, and accountability on the Day of Judgment.
Within twenty-three years of Prophethood, Islam spread throughout the Arabian Peninsula, a strong Islamic society was established, and the people were united under the worship of Allah.
For Muslims, love for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is an essential part of faith, and he is regarded as the final Messenger of Allah.
